Thoughts
Hey guys... just some thoughts from my week. On Thursday, my great uncle, Horst, had a heart attack. He was 72. He was in the middle of a tennis tournament to raise money for the special olympics. He won his first match, and then had a heart attack during the next match. He passed away on Friday afternoon.
In the '50s my grandfather came to America. In immigration class, he met Horst who was moving from Germany. They became really good friends. He introduced Horst to his sister Yolonda. They ended up getting married. Next month would be their 42 wedding anniversary.
I could not believe the way my family came together for support. I knew I had a big family, just not that BIG. It was so amazing seeing so much of my family there for Yolonda.
I really miss Horst, but it is even harder seeing the pain in my aunt and my grandfather. My grandpa doesn't know Christ, and this week has made him super sensitive to it. I love him with all my heart. Most of you know about him and have joined with me in prayer for him. This is such a hard time for him, but I pray that God will use it to draw him in. It is comforting to know I will see Horst again some day.
