Big Thoughts From A Little Person

My Grandpa

My grandpa has been one of the most influential people in my life. Although he does not know Christ, he is such an amazing man! I was so glad that I got to spend so much time with him in Honduras! While we were there he asked me about my trip to Mexico. I began to share with him the amazing experience I had. Of course, he made his racial remarks and he asked me: “why in the world would you go out of America and help people when you can be comfortable right here??” I was pretty surprised, because obviously we have different hearts. He told me he has never been to Mexico and he does not see a reason why he ever will be. Well I believe that God softened his heart during our conversation. By the end of our discussion, he told me he would come with my youth group to San Louis, Mexico, in February, to be our translator for our missions trip. So I am really excited because him opening up to something like this is a HUGE step for him. So I am still praying for God to touch him. I decided to fast one meal each week to spend time praying for my grandfather. One meal really is not a big thing… but it is a start for right now. I originally had this idea because of a conversation I had with my Aunt Chris when I was in Rhode Island (I can’t exactly remember what it was about…) . Anyways, I would like to challenge you to do something similar, whether it is for another non-believer, or maybe someone who is sick. I just know that prayer is effective, and that I want to reach souls for our God.

Lu - I'm in too. Tell me what day you are fasting and I will do it too. I will be fasting and praying for your grandfather, myself. We need to pray against the tricks of the enemy who will try to convince him not to go. We need to continue to pray that the fruit in our life will lure him to Christ. Also, that other people in his life besides us will pour into his life. I love you.

I'm there! Praying for your Papa. I'll also be lifting up Matt! I can almost feel God's pursuit of these souls! It's so exciting!
Putting our "needs" (the need for food) aside we humbly ask You Lord to continue to pursue these that we love so, and we know that You love them so much more than we ever could . We see Your hand in their lives, Father. Saturate them with Your love, Lord. Make us, use us as Your vessels. Amen...
    I love you, Lu!!!!
